Life Lately

Good morning, friends!
This blog is coming to you in real time after the most exhausting weekend ever.  I ended up having to soak in an epsom salt bath last night because I honestly thought my limbs were going to fall off.  They don’t feel much better today.  Oh well, such is life!
But the good news is: WE’RE IN!  We’re 90% settled.  And my little family is back together.  I was pretty sure my little heart was going to explode over the weekend.  Every so often I’d just stop, look around me, and smile.  It’s been a long, long road, friends.  Things since the first week of December have been hard.  There’s just no beating around that.  But now…we’re home.  We’re home.  We’re home.
In other news, I had to ask someone to reach a bag of chips off the top shelf at the grocery store last night, so there’s that.  I felt like I needed to have #shortgirlprobs written across my forehead.  I literally stood in the aisle for a good minute staring up at the chips thinking I’m not leaving here without them…but how will I do this?  Just as I was contemplating climbing the shelf (yes, the chips were that important to me…it’d been a long weekend), a adorable tall couple rounded the corner.  They effortlessly just reached up and snatched the bag for me.  Life.

Do you follow me on instagram?  You should.
I finally gave myself a simple manicure last night.  Of course, not before dropping a stupid ikea lamp and shattering it into a gazillion pieces all over the office carpet.  Oh, and I forgot to mention…J accidentally left our vacuum at our old house.  So that was fun.  Can I just say how freaking nice it feels to have my nails all the same length and not have my cuticles be taking over my life.  As Kel and I were tag teaming my box of polish up the stairs she goes “can we just let the record show that we’re having to tag team a box of nail polish.”  Yeah.  I know I have a problem.

Anyway!  To end out the most random post of my life, I have a little giveaway for y’all!  If you live in the Raleigh area, then you’ve heard of the Southern Women’s Show.  I’ve been a few times, and it’s honestly like heaven within the same four walls.  There are so many different vendors, shows, shopping, panels, everything!  This year, they’re having many special guests including Randy Fenoli from Say Yes to the Dress, who will be giving an empowering talk, and Peter Facinelli, who will be sharing some of his behind the scene secrets!
The show runs April 24-26, and it’s honestly just a really good time.  Grab a girlfriend or your mom…or hey, even drag your man friend.  He won’t admit it, but he’ll have fun too.  I mean, c’mon.  Free samples of wine?  I’m in.

Pack Like a Pro: Moving Made Easy

So my friend called me last week in a bit of a panic. Without really meaning to, she and her husband sold their house and bought a new one. I'd tell you the whole story about how someone randomly showed up on their doorstep putting in an offer on their house that...

hey, i want to feel sorry for your short girl problems, but tall girl problems – everyone always asks me to get things, even when they are ridiculously out of my reach as well.

  17. True story: I once needed something from a high shelf and of course it was in the back and there was no way in hell I could reach it. Ordinarily I have my husband–who is tall–with me on such occasions. Not this time. Rather than continue to wait for a tall person to randomly show up, I said screw it and left without what I needed. Short girl problems are real.

  22. YAY for reuniting with your polish!! How tall are you? I feel like I've read it on your blog before, but I totally forgot. I always superimpose my own height (5' 8'') onto everyone whose blogs I read, which is just ridiculous, haha.

  23. I had to tag one of besties and former roommate in your nail polish photo because we both used to go gaga over nail polish {still do} and we bought a see-through box for the huge collection which turned into a bigger mess. I hope that photo inspired her to maybe go buy the same and put her polishes away that way. 😉 Hahahahaha
